Welcome to Class 4's page!
Class 4
Welcome back everybody; I hope you all had a lovely summer holiday with your friends and families, and enjoyed all the time you got to spend together in the sun! Myself and Mrs Toase are both very excited about welcoming you all back for a new year of learning. We are also looking forward to welcoming the year 5s up into class 4 with us too this year. Our history unit for this half term is a black history unit based around Martin Luther King and his achievements with changing civil rights for people in the USA. Our geography unit for the second half of term will be a local study of Hartland using the skills of mapping and fieldwork, where we will go into Hartland and try to navigate our way to locations using grid references. In science, we will be studying animals including humans for the first half of term. Below, the knowledge organisers summarises what we will be learning about.
We have 2 PE afternoons this term. These will be on Thursday and Friday for us. As usual, children will come into school in their PE kits please.
Homework will be set on Fridays, and it will include spellings, some maths questions based on the week's learning and reading. We are expecting each child to read 8 times over a two-week period, and these need to be recorded in their diaries. Homework is due on Wednesday, with the spelling and times tables test taking place on the Friday of that week.
We look forward to seeing all of you back in school for the new term!
Mr Teuchmann and Mrs Toase
