Class 5

Welcome back everybody; I hope you all had a lovely Christmas holiday with your friends and families, and enjoyed all the time you got to spend together! Myself and Mrs Toase are both very excited about welcoming you all back for a new term of learning.  Our history unit for this half term is The Mayans - clues from the past. We will look at what items we have from the past tell us about the Mayan civilisation. Our geography unit for the second half of term will be physical geography, where we will study rainforest biomes.  In science, we will be studying evolution and inheritance for the first half of term. Below, the knowledge organisers summarises what we will be learning about.

We have 2 PE afternoons this term. These will be on Monday and Tuesday for us. As usual, children will come into school in their PE kits please. 

Homework will be set on Fridays, and it will include spellings, some maths questions based on  the week's learning and reading. We are expecting each child to read 8 times over a two week period, and these need to be recorded in their diaries. Homework is due on Wednesday, with the spelling and times tables test taking place on the Friday of that week.
