PE days: During Autumn term, Class 1 will have their PE sessions on a Monday and a Wednesday. As always please can children come to school wearing their PE kit on those days. 

Help at home: 

Each week on a Friday, children will bring home a new reading book. This will be the book that they focussed on in their 'guided reading' sessions. They will have already had three sessions on this book, so this is an opportunity for them to celebrate their reading at home.  

Children will also bring home a book each week that they will have chosen from our school library. These will be changed on a Thursday. Please ensure library books come back into school on a Thursday, so children can change it. 

As the term goes on, children will start to bring home new 'Tricky words' that they have learnt in Phonics. These are words that are not decodable yet for year Receptions- they can be practised at home so children feel confident at recognising them. 

Autumn Term:

 The theme for this half term is, 'All About Me'. We learn about each other and our similarities and differences. The children will look at themselves and what they look like, their families, homes and what they like doing. It will a wonderful opportunity for children to share interests and facts about themselves. 

We will also learn about the people around us who help us. From people in our homes, our school and in our community. 

The theme for after half term will be, 'Celebrations'. We will learn about celebrations that happen during Autumn and Winter. The children will be able to share what they know about 'Bonfire Night'. We will be experimenting with colours to create fire work pictures. This will lead us onto learning about 'Christmas' and how people celebrate Christmas around the world.
