ACCT
Hartland Primary School is a foundation member of the ACCT. We have been working with our Foundation and Partner Schools (Appledore Primary, Instow Primary, the Village Schools Partnership (Woolsery, Buckland Brewer and Parkham), St Mary’s Primary Bideford) for a number of years.
The trust provides our children with opportunities to take part in an PE festivals, anti-bullying workshops, E-safety workshops and singing performances.
Our teachers have been able to spend time with other trust teachers moderating and sharing literacy and numeracy work, early years expertise and continued professional development in foundation subjects.
Our Trust partners are the Atlantic Racquet Centre and the Northam Care Trust.
As a member of a Co-operative Trust, our work is underpinned by the Co-operative Values and Ethics
Values: Democracy, Equality, Equity, Solidarity, Self- help & Self – responsibility
Ethics: Openness, Honesty, Social Responsibility, Caring for Others
Exeter Consortium
We are pleased to work with Exeter Consortium School's Alliance who deliver a high-quality school-based route into teaching. Training begins in a “Home School” where trainees are
based for two terms. They are in school from the very start of term, learning how teachers create a positive environment in which children will thrive. Trainees spend much more time in school than on conventional PGCE programmes, and become a member of the school team
from the start. Their partnership proudly sees this route as a recruitment pipeline of excellent teachers for their schools. Built into their programme is a focus on well-being; their cohort is
purposefully small, allowing personalised support.
As a school who is keen to support the next cohort of dedicated, well-prepared teachers, we are pleased to host trainees. If you have ever thought about training to be a teacher, and would like to find out more about these supportive and personalised routes into the classroom, you can find out more here.
